Hanksville ist ein kleiner Ort in Utah, der zwischen den Nationalparks Canyonlands und Capitol Reef liegt. Dort, wo sich die Utah State Roads 24 und 95 treffen, gibt es ein paar Lokale und nicht besonders einladende Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten. In der Umgebungs finden Sie jedoch sehr schöne Wanderungen in interessantem geologischen Umfeld.

Der Capitol Reef National Park existiert seit Dezember 1971. Vorher war er seit 1937 ein National Monument. Zentral liegt die Waterpocket Fold, die 150 km lang ist. Knallig rote Wanderungen sind garantiert.

Suchen Sie Ihre Wanderung in der Landkarte und zoomen Sie bis auf Straßenebene zu Ihrem gewünschten Trailhead (Start der Wanderung). Die Position des Trailheads ist mit einem "Marker-Symbol" markiert, dessen Farbe den Schwierigkeitsgrad der Wanderung signalisiert:

Hanksville is a small town in Utah, located between Canyonlands and Capitol Reef National Parks. Where Utah State Roads 24 and 95 meet, there are a few eateries and not particularly inviting places to stay. However, in the surrounding area you will find very nice hiking in an interesting geological setting.

Capitol Reef National Park has existed since December 1971, before that it was a National Monument since 1937. The focal point is the Waterpocket Fold, which is 150 km long. Bright red hikes are guaranteed.
