Escalante [UT]
Escalante ist ein "Nest" mit keinen 1.000 Einwohnern im Süden von Utah. Die Infrastruktur ist ausnehmend schlecht, aber die Natur ist gewaltig.
Links und rechts der Hole-in-the-Rock und der Old Sheffield Road liegen das Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, kurz GSENM, und die Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Der Escalante River bildet sozusagen den Mittelpunkt des ausgeprägten Wandergebiets auf dem Colorado Plateau.
Suchen Sie Ihre Wanderung in der Landkarte und zoomen Sie bis auf Straßenebene zu Ihrem gewünschten Trailhead (Start der Wanderung). Die Position des Trailheads ist mit einem "Marker-Symbol" markiert, dessen Farbe den Schwierigkeitsgrad der Wanderung signalisiert:

Escalante is a smal town with less than 1,000 inhabitants in southern Utah. The infrastructure is exceptionally poor, but the nature is tremendous.
To the left and right of the Hole-in-the-Rock and Old Sheffield Road lie the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, or GSENM, and the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. The Escalante River forms the center, so to speak, of the distinct hiking area on the Colorado Plateau.
